Emily Walker – childhood memories

Emily Walker shares stories about her childhood in Smithtown, on the banks of the Macleay River.

They lived in an old house near the white people for whom her mum worked. She tells about not being taught her tribe language because her family wanted to protect her from the racism Aboriginal people faced.
